BBC article and Swedish cartoonist share irresponsibility

I rarely post any links and comment articles or other material, and I have made it a pillar of this blog, but this is too much. This article on the bbc-news website, about the latest swedish cartoon representing Mohammad with a DOG's body, is just ridiculously woven:

"Muslims regard visual representation of the Prophet as blasphemous."

There is no mention yet of what the cartoon actually represents.. It could be a nice drawing of Mohammad having a nap under a palm tree. But whatever it is, Muslims (boo!) get angry very unrationally. Later in the article, here it comes:

"The cartoon showed the Prophet Muhammad's head on a dog's body and was published by Nerikes Allehanda newspaper on 18 August."

You see now, these are just boring facts that they had to include in the article. Don't pay too much attention to it. It's boring.

"Many Muslims regard the dog as an impure animal."

And so putting the head of Jesus or Mary on a DOG's body would not be considered blasphemous by christians?? Too much I tell you. This is just too obvious a bias towards a fellow newspaper.

Last comment on the issue, it really pisses me off that some extremely irresponsible person like this cartoonist would draw a "controversial" representation of Mohammad just to draw attention to himself, without having any message and without starting any valuable debate. It is useless moral violence and should be punished (or at least bashed for its real value, come on people!). As for him accepting to hide "for his own security" (really, his own security? Wow this was really worth noting. The author of this article is just brilliant.), I think it is cowardly and selfish. If you need to expose thousands of innocent people's lives to death, you might as well be a man and stand by your actions.
